German Village - Village Lights

The historic streets of German Village will be lit up to provide some holiday magic. Restaurants, shops, and private homes around the village will also be open late with holiday specials, free goodies, and live music! Village Lights 2019 will take place on December 8th from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will read to children, there will be live ice carvings from Rock on Ice, and there will be more fun surprises. Wildlights

Wildlights is a favorite holiday tradition for many families in central Ohio as the zoo becomes even more magical during the 6 weeks leading up to New Year’s Day. There will be light and sound displays, train rides on the Polar Bear Express, Camel Rides, visits with Santa, and the chance to see all of the animals indoors and outdoors.

Private tours will also be available to enjoy the magic of the Zoo at Christmastime without the crowds. Guests can snuggle under a blanket in a luxury golf cart and sip on tasty hot cocoa while seeing their favorite animal friends.

Conservatory Aglow

Franklin Park Conservatory will host Conservatory Aglow with special holiday decor, live music, and special events to bring holiday cheer. The conservatory will be open later until 9:00 PM and will be lit up beautifully inside and outside. WinterFest at Bicentennial Park

Scioto Mile will be covered in stunning Christmas lights throughout the holiday season. Bicentennial Park will also host a WinterFest on December 7th featuring live performances, seasonal cocktails and ales from local breweries, and delicious dishes from Columbus food trucks.

Columbus Commons and the Lazarus Windows

Nearby Bicentennial Park, Columbus Commons will also feature a variety of holiday displays and 400,000 LED lights for the Holiday Light Display. The old Lazarus Building’s windows will be filled with scenes from the 12 Days of Christmas and they will also feature a free Santa’s Workshop on December 7th where kids can grab a photo with Santa and participate in fun arts and crafts!

Huntington Holiday Train

The Huntington Holiday Train display is an annual staple of the Main Library. The holiday scene features trains, tracks, tunnels, bridges and replicas of German homes and castles that will delight people of all ages. The exhibit is never the same, so this is something families can enjoy year after year!

Dickens of a Christmas at Ohio Village

The Ohio History Center will host their 19th-century holiday celebration, Dickens of a Christmas, on select weekends this December. Guests will have the chance to interact with favorite characters from “A Christmas Carol,” meet Santa Claus in Victorian style, enjoy live carols, sip a mug of wassail from the tavern, purchase delicious treats, try holiday crafts, and capture a unique family photo in a Victoria-era sleigh.

Easton at Christmastime

Easton is stunning at Christmastime with carriage rides, live music, a lighting ceremony, and more holiday displays! Not only is this a great place to knock out some holiday shopping, but a fun place for families to gather and celebrate the season. The lighting ceremony at the end of November will see an exciting parade and celebration of the arrival of Santa. The 56-foot Christmas tree will then offer custom light shows throughout the season. Couples and families can dash through the streets on a horse-drawn carriage or enjoy free trolley rides to their favorite shops and restaurants. Easton will also feature a life-size nativity, a special Menorah celebration, complimentary holiday photos, photos with Santa, and a variety of live music and entertainment. The fun begins in late November and will last through December 23rd at Easton Town Center!

State Auto’s Christmas Corner

State Auto’s Christmas Corner is a beloved community tradition in central Ohio. The historic life-sized nativity is a big hit as well as the Tree Lighting Ceremony on December 3rd. Families can enjoy local choir performances on Friday and Saturday evenings through December 23rd while they sip on free hot chocolate.
